When you create a new article in Joomla, it automatically appears in the CRE8 Social timeline once configured. How can I get a new CRE8 Blog post to show up in the timeline? Either I haven't found the right setting yet, or the feature hasn't been developed yet. :-)

This feature exists. It is available via the user-/group-blog app for CRE8 Social.
To have even more control, I'd recommend to use the User Blog Advanced App, which is part of your subscription and comes with a fine-grain control over stream-items etc.
Last but not least, please also check out the settings in CRE8 Blog under Integrations > EasySocial.
