In order to link most of your blogs, Twitter requires you to setup an application with them. This documentation provides instructions on how to properly setting up Twitter application. We will guide you through setting up your first Twitter application.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 - Creating New App

To allow users to link their Twitter account with your site, you will need to create a Twitter app. Open up Twitter Developer Portal site at https://developer.twitter.com/. Login to the site using your Twitter account.

Once you have logged in, click on the +Add App button from the Standalone Apps section.

Step 2 - Setting Up The Application

Enter your application name then you view to get your access to consumer keys & tokens.

Remember to copy the API Key(Consumer Key) and API Key Secret(Consumer Secret) then place it into your backend Easyblog Twitter auto-posting page before you close this page.

Step 3 - Furnishing Twitter App

Additional permission is required by the app. Navigate to the Settings tab and then click the Set up button under User authentication settings.

You need to follow the screenshot below of what options we choose.

Note: For now, you can ignore the OAuth 2.0 Client ID and Client Secret key first due to the Twitter developer hasn't released OAuth 2.0 API to support media endpoint for image uploading, so only required OAuth 1.0 Consumer Keys and secret keys. (Last updated in Nov 2022)

Step 4 - Autoposting Authentication

Once you have done all that, remember to save the setting first, now it's time to authenticate it. Click on the Sign in with Twitter button. A dialog popup will appear for this authentication process. Click on Authorize app button to authenticate it.

Oh don't forget to Enable Twitter Integration on your site. That's about it.
